The Brian Williams Playlist: Part Two

The NBC News anchor discusses more of his current favorites

I posted this list of songs I'm presently stuck on (like most playlists, it makes little sense—a few remakes, some stuff that's been kicking around a while), including "Outdoor Miner" by Luna. It's a cover (downloading the original Wire song is worth it for the comparison) and because it was part of a download-only release, it never got wide play. It's just a good, solid rock and roll song with good, sturdy British roots. Give the lyrics a listen a few times—give the meaning a good guess—then look up the backstory on the web.

"Funny Little Frog," God Help the Girl
"Another One Goes By," The Walkmen
"Four Horses,"  Passenger
"Trouble is a Friend," Lenka
"Snakes and Lions," melpo mene
"Half Man,"  Black Friend
"We're Gonna Rise," The Breeders
"Blowing Kisses,"  Sarabeth Tucek
"Hymn #35," by Joe Pug
"Outdoor Miner," Luna
"Cherry," Ratatat"Deliverance," Bubba Sparxx
"Secret Alphabets," Kasabian
"Janglin," Edward Sharpe + The Magnetic Zeroes
"The Scientist," Aimee Mann
"Tighten Up," Beau Jocque

We've also posted our latest installation, a conversation with Great Lake Swimmers. They were nice enough to come by and visit us at 30 Rock, and I hope you'll enjoy the conversation.
