Senate President Gary Stevens, R-Kodiak, said Wednesday that the one-day session will be held in Anchorage on Aug. 10.

Stevens says confirming the new lieutenant governor also is on the agenda.

Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will become governor July 26 with Palin's planned resignation.

Parnell has named Military and Veterans Affairs Commissioner Craig Campbell to replace him on a temporary basis. Campbell will serve in that capacity until the Legislature confirms him.
