Gateways: New York City; add $6 for Boston; $10 for Fort Lauderdale, Orlando; $120 for Long Beach; $210 for Oakland.

The fine print: Does not include taxes of about $21 per person. Based on double occupancy; single supplement is $286. Read these guidelines before you book any Real Deal.

Book by: No deadline; based on availability.

Contact: JetBlue Airways, 800/538-2583, jetblue.com.

Why it's a deal: This package offers the best value if you're coming to D.C. from the West Coast. For instance, we found a $288 round-trip flight between Long Beach and D.C. for travel in mid-October (Northwest). The three-night hotel stay costs about $332 per person, with all taxes included. So booking independently, you should expect to pay about $620 per person. Out of Long Beach, this package costs $590 with all taxes included — a savings of $30. We calculated that the savings out of New York City is only about $10. If you're in the New York area and are willing to travel by bus instead, you'll save much more by booking a low-fare bus trip and the hotel stay on your own.

More: There are additional hotels available at varying rates; see JetBlue's D.C. booking page for more details.
