“I wanna see the sunshine after the rain, I wanna see bluebirds flying over the mountain again, oh where is the silver lining shining at the rainbow’s end?”

The chorus of “Sunshine After the Rain,” a song performed by singer Elkie Brooks and released on her 1977 album, “Two Days Away,” seems especially fitting for this week’s It’s A Snap! contest winner.

Hung Nguyen snapped this top-rated image while visiting Zion National Park late last year.

“It was a pretty lucky day,” Nguyen recalled of the wet November day. “It broke for an hour and storm clouds moved in again.”

Nguyen, a resident of Tustin, Calif., enjoys nature photography, and models his work after landscape photographers Marc Adamus and the late Galen Rowell.

His hobby takes him to Alaska, Washington and Oregon. Nguyen was planning an autumn trip to Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula, but unfavorable weather prompted him to change his plans.

Instead, he’ll have to settle for Iguachu Falls and other stunning sites of Brazil.
