A brief power outage at Boston's Logan International Airport has caused flight delays and some cancellations.

Massport spokesman Phil Orlandella says the outage was reported at 9:10 a.m. Friday. He says the problem was traced to NStar, the power company that serves the airport.

Orlandella says power started to return about eight minutes later, but it took about two hours before operations were back to normal.

Outbound flight delays averaged about one hour. Orlandella did not know how many flights had to be canceled.

Inbound flights were not delayed, but planes could not taxi all the way to the gates, so passengers had to walk or be bused to the terminals.

The outage temporarily required baggage to be checked by hand at security checkpoints.
