Congratulations to Aaron Keigher of Elizabeth, N.J., who captured the top-rated image in this week’s It's A Snap! travel photo contest.
The Director of Communications/Development Coordinator at the Frisch School in Paramus, N.J., Keigher, 31, says photography is a hobby — and a passion. While on a photo vacation last July to the Grand Canyon, he snapped the stunning image at sunset, just after a thunderstorm cleared.
“It’s one of the hardest places to get a good photo because it’s so overwhelming,” said Keigher.
For the best chances of getting a great photo, he says, “There’s definitely a difference between midday, sunrise and sunset, so stick around until that golden lighting happens — nothing compares.”
Keigher saw deer and squirrels while visiting the Grand Canyon, but says squirrels are the most dangerous. “Beware of squirrel attacks. People will say ‘Oh, cute squirrel’, try to feed them — and then they get bit.”
Keigher shot the winning image with a Canon 40-D.
