Why it’s a deal: In a recent Kayak search, we found a $627 round-trip flight between New York City and Rome in late February (multiple airlines). For the same dates, a five-day rental car with a manual transmission starts at $380 from Hertz. For $581 more than booking these two components independently, this package covers the airfare and the rental car, plus five nights at a four-star hotel, a 40-minute massage, six meals, a bottle of wine, and all taxes and fees.

More: Upgrade to a car with an automatic transmission from about $175 per person. Room upgrades include a deluxe double for an additional $180 per person, and a suite for an additional $320 per person. Extend your stay at the Villa Aurea for approximately $119 per person per night, based on double occupancy.
