The deal: Splurging on a luxury cruise doesn’t have to mean emptying your bank account in the process. Right now, there are some outstanding bargains being offered by Silversea on 12 of its spring cruises to Alaska, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, or the Middle East.

These itineraries are reduced a whopping 60 percent off the brochure rates, and also include free round-trip airfare and transfers. Our editors’ favorite from the bunch is this 14-night transatlantic cruise from New York to Southampton on the cruise line’s newest vessel.

The journey aboard the Silver Spirit begins April 23 as the ship sails from New York harbor to Boston, Halifax, and St. John's, Newfoundland. After, it will spend four days crossing the Atlantic giving passengers ample time to experience why the Silver Spirit sets the standard in luxury cruising.

As the largest ship in Silversea’s fleet (carrying 540 passengers), the cruise line was able to expand the size of each suite stateroom allowing for walk-in closets, full-size bathtubs, and a separate sitting area. Other amenities include an 8,300-square-foot spa, a resort-style pool that is heated and cooled as temperatures change, a library and Internet café, and six dining venues.

Once the ship reaches Europe, it will call in Cork, Ireland followed by Cardiff — the capital of Wales, and Plymouth, England before finally arriving in Southampton — less than two hours’ drive from London. Prices for this unique itinerary start at $6,238 (reduced from $15,595) and include airfare, transfers, gratuities, beverages, and in-room dining. For a complete list of cruises included in the sale, please visit www.silversea.com. These offers expire March 18.

The dollars: Rates are per person, based on double occupancy and include airfare, transfers, gratuities, beverages, and in-room dining. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

The catch: Shore excursions are not included.
