The deal: On the grounds of the Four-Diamond Pinehurst Resort in the central, Sandhills region of resplendent North Carolina, you’ll find one of the first and finest golf courses in the nation. Since 1895, the Pinehurst name has carried with it a reputation for affluence and class, providing luxurious respite for Americans throughout 20th century.

Lucky for ShermansTravel readers, this 2,000-acre, Southern retreat is offering an exclusive, additional 20 percent off any of their golf, spa, and recreational luxury packages, which already come at a discounted rate.

Pinehurst steals such as the Putter Boy Package, which includes unlimited golf, accommodations, breakfast, dinner, and access to the Beach Club, will only rack up $388 per person, per night (regularly $485) — a daily savings of $194. Travel from August 8 through September 6 to reserve a first-class getaway and receive one-fifth off the original package price.

About the resort: Pinehurst’s history and ambiance are inextricable from North Carolina’s old world charm, the fecundity of its natural resources, and the state’s cultivation of contemporary arts.

The eminent resort houses eight celebrity-designed, world-renowned golf greens, a four-star spa, eight dining establishments, catered by acclaimed chefs and recognized on a national level, a 200-acre private freshwater lake, and championship tennis facility.

The dollars: Rates are per person, per night. Taxes and fees not included.

The catch: The savings don’t apply to room rate-only reservations.
