The New York Times has launched its supplement in a prominent Croatian business newspaper.
The first issue — a 16-page selection of international news, features and commentaries translated into Croatian — was published in Poslovni Dnevnik (Business Daily) on Monday.
Darko Markusic, the director of Poslovni Dnevnik, says the project is proof that "written journalism is not dead — it has a great future," despite online competition and the global economic downturn.
Poslovni Dnevnik is owned by the Austria-based Styria Media Group.
Josephine Schmidt, the International Editorial Development's associate director at the Times, says Poslovni Dnevnik is the 29th publication in the world to run the Times supplement.
