Oshkosh gets Army contract valued at $410 million

Specialty vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. said Monday its defense division has received an order to produce tactical vehicles for the U.S. Army valued at more than $410 million.

Specialty vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. said Monday its defense division has received an order to produce tactical vehicles for the U.S. Army valued at more than $410 million.

Shares jumped $2.50, or 6.9 percent, to $38.81 in morning trading. The stock has traded between $9.25 and $44.57 in the past year.

The award is for 2,634 truck and trailer deliveries scheduled between March and December 2011.

The company will begin supplying initial trucks to the Army this month for performance and durability testing.
