Venezuelan authorities have deported a Dominican man who is wanted on drug trafficking and murder charges.
Omar Ramon del Rosario Puente was arrested last week in coastal Vargas state near Caracas. Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami calls his arrest a significant blow to drug trafficking operations in Venezuela.
The 43-year-old suspect was deported to the Dominican Republic on Monday. Top Dominican police official Maj. Gen. Rafael Guzman attended as the suspect was turned over at Simon Bolivar International Airport near Caracas.
