Oil bounces back to settle near $77

Oil prices rebounded with the stock market after the European Union approved a bailout package designed to squelch Europe's debt crisis.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Crude rose $1.69 to settle at $76.80 per barrel.

Gasoline added 4.75 cents to settle at $2.1726 a gallon.

Heating oil gained 4.07 cents to settle at $2.1202 a gallon.

Natural gas climbed by 15.5 cents to settle at $4.170 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE futures exchange:

Brent crude rose $1.85 to settle at $80.12.
