Novelas have arrived as part of the programming offering on Terra TV, a video platform from Terra, a global digital media company and bilingual content producer with a presence in 18 countries, including the United States. Terra signed its first-ever agreement with the Colombian network Caracol Television to offer its users the opportunity to discover and enjoy the stories, personalities and traditions by way of three novelas. "Luna, la heredera" ("Luna, the Heiress") will be the first novela to air on the site beginning today, May 10.

"We are excited to provide our audience with high quality novelas, that are unique and have high production values," expressed Angel Sepúlveda, Vice President of Programming for Terra. "Novelas are very popular in Latin America and have demonstrated to have a loyal audience and continue to be widely popular in the United States particularly with Hispanics that seek a connection with their native country," added Sepúlveda.

Shortly after the premiere of "Luna, la heredera," two other Caracol produced novelas will follow on Terra TV. The alliance with Caracol Television will allow users to view new episodes in their 47 minute entirety from Monday to Friday. After the initial broadcast, episodes will be available "On Demand" until June 2011.

A testament to this popularity of the Colombian novelas, Caracol Network is the fourth largest exporter of novelas in the world, competing with large scale productions from Mexico, Brazil and Chile. The network's three novelas garnered a large audience in Colombia and are expected to do the same on Terra.

Luna, la heredera
Despite being a production from Colombia, the novela "Luna, la heredera" features two non-Colombian Latin actors, Gaby Espino from Venezuela, and Christian Meier from Peru.

Gaby plays Luna, a beautiful teenager who moves from the coast to the city when Esteban Lombardo, an ambitious businessman, murders her mother after she denies selling him the family's land. Mauricio, played by Christian, is an attractive man with whom Luna falls in love yet blames for what happened to her mother. In the capital city, Luna finds an opportunity in the world of modeling and meets Rodrigo Lombardo, who falls in love with her. Conflicts, manipulations, jealousy and revenge are a part of the love story between Luna and Mauricio.
