U.S. financial markets are closed Monday to mark the Fourth of July holiday.

Major Market Indices

Stocks traded in a tight range Friday after a disappointing jobs report added to investors' concerns that the economic recovery is losing steam.

Last week, the Dow tumbled 457.33 points, or 4.51 percent, to 9686.48. This was the worst five-day percent performance leading up to July 4 since 1896 when it fell 6.21 percent.

The Dow has traded in negative territory for seven consecutive sessions.

The U.S. markets will reopen Tuesday after the three-day weekend.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
