“NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS” NUMBER ONE NEWSCAST

“NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams” was the most watched network evening newscast for the week of June 28  – July 4, 2010, according to Nielsen Media Research data. During the week, "Nightly" saw 7.802 million total viewers, +1.059 million more than ABC "World News,’" 6.743 million and +2.834 million more than CBS "Evening News’” 4.968 million. “Nightly” was retitled on Thursday and Friday due to Wimbledon impacting the lead-in and is based on a 3-day average (M-W).

“Nightly” had its best viewer delivery since week of May 10th and best advantage over “World News” since week of March 8th. Season-to-date, “Nightly” leads “World News” by +1.074 million total viewers.

Last week, “Nightly” also led in the key demo adults 25-54.  “Nightly” delivered a 1.8 rating A25-54, ahead of “World News’” 1.5 and “Evening News’” 1.2. With 2.283 million A25-54 (000) viewers last week, the newscast beat “World News” by +379,000 viewers. Season-to-date, “Nightly” leads “World News” by +444,000 A25-54 viewers. This is the 84th consecutive week “Nightly” has topped “World News” in this key demo.

As the number one network broadcast last week, “Nightly News” delivered a 5.2/11 Household rating, with “World News” in second place with a 4.6/10, and “Evening News” in third with a 3.4/8.

On its digital platforms, "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" continued its strong performance with more than 3.2 million online streams for the week ending July 3, 2010.
