Why it's a deal: According to a recent search on Kayak, the lowest round-trip fare between Minneapolis and San Juan is $345, with taxes, for travel in late August (US Airways). A three-night stay at the resort costs about $383 per person including taxes. So booking independently, you would expect to pay about $728 per person. This package costs $578, a savings of $150.
More: Transfers from San Juan to Ponce are not included in the price. Private transfers are available and can be arranged through the hotel ($155 for two people). Optional tours include an El Yunque rain-forest trip ($53 per person) and an Old San Juan & Rum tour ($53 person).
