Former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara speaks exclusively to Chris Matthews about his role in the Vietnam war and the documentary detailing his life on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” Wednesday, Jan. 7, 7-8 p.m. ET.

“The Fog of War,” directed by celebrated filmmaker Errol Morris, is a biographical look at McNamara’s life, including his part in the war against Japan and the bombing of Tokyo in World War II, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the pivotal role McNamara had during the war in Vietnam.
