CHANDLER, Ariz., Sept. 1, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Phoenix, Arizona will play host to a first-of-its kind event called Scrum Beyond Software beginning September 24, 2010. Run in an Open Space Technology format, the three-day collaborative conference will explore how Scrum, a framework historically used to manage complex information technology projects, can be applied outside the software world.
Scrum Beyond Software will bring the existing Scrum community together with those who are looking for an effective way to juggle competing priorities and get the right work done on time and on budget in any industry. The Open Space structure is unlike traditional conferences in that the attendees self-organize to create the agenda based on what they would like to learn, explore, and discuss.

Phoenix Open Space: Scrum Beyond Software kicks off on Friday, September 24th at Gangplank, a collaborative workspace in Chandler, Arizona. The event begins with an optional one-day workshop for those looking to learn the basics about the Scrum framework. The following two days are reserved for the Open Space portion of the gathering, where participants suggest session topics they'd like to explore, thereby customizing the event's content.
Tickets are available online at http://phoenix.scrumgathering.org/ for the rate of $200 for Open Space or $350 for the intro to Scrum and Open Space sessions. Only 100 tickets are available for the event to preserve its intimate nature and to encourage participation by all attendees. Fun activities and child care are offered on-site for participants wishing to bring their families.
