Texas Gov. Rick Perry has issued a disaster declaration for 40 counties battered by Tropical Storm Hermine on Thursday; and in Colorado, winds continued to fan the flames of wildfires that have so far consumed at least 169 houses. NBC's Brian Williams reports.
A series of weak tornadoes, spawned by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine, touched down in the Dallas area, while heavy rains led to flash flooding in the northern part of Texas and into Oklahoma. The Weather Channel’s Julie Martin reports and TODAY’s Al Roker tracks the storm front.

This September 7, 2010 NOAA satellite image shows Tropical Storm Hermine as it slammed into far northeastern Mexico and then barreled into US territory early Tuesday, threatening storm surges, flash floods and tornadoes on both sides of the border. Hermine churned ashore bringing torrential rains at
