PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 28, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Springbrook Software, Inc., a leading provider of fully integrated enterprise software solutions for local government, today announced that the City of Piqua, Ohio has selected its Financial Management, Payroll/Human Resources and Customer Information Services .NET solutions to replace a legacy system. With the integrated Springbrook financial system, the city will be able to improve efficiency and data transparency/service delivery to employees and customers while maintaining full accountability.

Commented Cynthia Holtzapple, Assistant City Manager/Director of Finance for Piqua: "Like many municipalities, Piqua had an in-house developed and supported financial system. Maintaining the system had become increasingly burdensome. Our staff were not necessarily 'experts' in all application areas; we used numerous programs which were not integrated; the file structure made it difficult to perform adequate data analysis and query; and the legal aspects of complying with new state laws and regulations grew in complexity. We chose Springbrook over six other vendors because they specialize in government financial solutions, have robust and user-friendly applications based on the latest Microsoft .NET technology, and for their 'Partnership' philosophy and commitment to customer support."

The Springbrook financial system will allow the City to run processes concurrently, improving efficiency. Real-time information extraction, reporting and data analysis will enhance service delivery to both staff and customers, as well as make for better-informed decision-making and budgeting. The system will also provide web-based account lookup and payment processing, and employees will have secure, online web access to payroll and benefit information.

Commented Scott Stickel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Springbrook: "We are very pleased to welcome the City of Piqua to the Springbrook family and are looking forward to continuing to expand our presence in Ohio."
