LOD, Israel, Oct. 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AudioCodes (Nasdaq:AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced the introduction of the MediaPack™ 252 Multimedia Home Gateway. A member of the MediaPack gateway series, the MediaPack 252 integrates diverse home multimedia services, including ADSL2+ Secured Router, high-speed 802.11n WiFi access point and CAT-iq™ compliant DECT, supporting High Definition VoIP (HDVoIP).

The MediaPack 252 integrates an internal ADSL2+ modem and secured wireless router, as well as support for 100Mbit Ethernet WAN port. The unit has an integrated CAT-iq™ 2.0 compliant DECT base station, which together with AudioCodes' MP252 complementary handsets, provides superior HDVoIP quality calls. Additionally, an internal Bluetooth radio allows synchronization to mobile phones, which enable receiving and making calls through the DECT handsets. The unit also supports 3 USB ports, allowing the functionality of Print Server and File Server and an optional USB-based 3G cellular modem. Battery backup for use in case of power failure is also available.
