NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- New York Mortgage Trust, Inc. (Nasdaq:NYMT) ("NYMT" or the "Company") announced today that its Board of Directors declared on October 4, 2010 a cash dividend of $0.18 per share on shares of its common stock for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. The dividend is payable on October 25, 2010 to common stockholders of record as of October 14, 2010.

In addition, the Board of Directors declared a dividend of $0.50 per share on shares of its Series A Preferred Stock for the 2010 third quarter in accordance with the terms of the Series A Preferred Stock. The dividend will be payable on October 29, 2010 to stockholders of record on September 30, 2010.
