SAN RAMON, Calif., Oct. 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) will be hosting an interactive workshop at TelcoTV in Las Vegas, on Tuesday, November 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Speakers and case study presentations will feature pay TV operators and integrated service providers including Verizon, Comcast, Cox and DirecTV. Parks Associates will provide an overview of integrated service provider and pay TV market trends.

Traditional telephone companies are rapidly evolving into integrated service providers, offering pay TV programming to round out their triple and quad play service offerings, and to keep pace with the competition. However, the challenges confronting all service providers go beyond technology and include variables such as applications, consumer behavior, cost of installation, and portability of applications onto other platforms.

"More than just raw performance, there are strict requirements for reliability of packet delivery, integration with other services in the home, and a technology roadmap guaranteeing that investment in current equipment is safe and sound. All service providers must evaluate the various technology standards with a critical eye toward short and long-term economic benefits," said Robert Gelphman, chair of the market work group for MoCA.

Charles Cerino, President of MoCA and VP at Comcast, and Dr. Anton Monk, MoCA CTO and VP of Technology at Entropic Communications, will provide updates on the organization and technology status of the Alliance, respectively.

MoCA board member, Broadcom Corporation, will discuss DLNA and how MoCA integrates within that Alliance's Interoperability Guidelines -- and why all service providers should care.

All presenters will be available after the session for additional questions.

MoCA will be demonstrating many of its members' certified products in a live demonstration at its TelcoTV 2010 booth, SP-150.
