LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In response to the City of Whittier's release of the independent Environmental Impact Report (EIR) studying the pending development of the Whittier Main Field Oil Project, Michael McCaskey, Executive Vice President of Matrix Oil Corporation issued the following statement:

"This 800 page EIR took 18 months to complete. We are as anxious as all other stakeholders to review the findings and study the recommendations included in this report. Since Matrix has not yet had the opportunity to review the document, we will reserve judgment on the findings until we have had an adequate amount of time to study it. Any judgments, statements or conclusions prior to a full reading of this very large and thorough document would simply be premature.

"Matrix looks forward to working with the City and the community to discuss ideas and answer questions. The release of the EIR marks a milestone, and we are excited to move forward with our project."
