Harrington as a business consultant and appointed him to the company's Advisory Board. Mr. Harrington adds significant expertise in the environmental sector, as well as knowledge and legal background which will be invaluable in assisting BioNeutral in achieving its business goals, especially in developing business in the industrial sector.

Mr. Harrington has more than four decades of experience as a practicing environmental lawyer. He is partner emeritus of the prestigious Chicago-based law firm of McGuire Woods LLP. and served as partner with the Chicago law firms of Ross & Hardies and Rooks, Pitts and Poust. James Harrington has represented major U.S. manufacturing companies in state and federal enforcement action and litigated at the trial and appellate levels. He has an extensive background in federal, state and local regulatory development and judicial review with an emphasis on air pollution and state implementation plans, federal effluent guidelines, pretreatment standards, and state regulatory development. A major portion of his time has been spent counseling and representing clients on air, water, and solid and hazardous waste regulations and compliance issues. He has expressed the impact of environmental regulations upon corporate valuation, real estate and operational transactions to legislatures, rule making agencies and the courts. He assisted various industries and industrial groups in developing state and federal regulations regarding air, water and groundwater remediation and has counseled on all aspects of environmental law, compliance and permitting policy and strategy.

Throughout his career, Mr. Harrington has represented major U.S. industries including: Iron and Steel, Petroleum Refining, Chemicals, Aluminum, Foundries, Electrical Generation – coal-fired and waste to energy, Plastics, Paint, Metals, Coating and General Manufacturing. He represented the American Iron and Steel Institute in challenging and negotiating pretreatment standards. Clients within the petroleum industry included: Conoco Phillips Petroleum, Marathon Petroleum, Mobil Oil, Standard Oil of Indiana, Union Oil and the Shell Oil Company. Within the Chemical, Paint and Plastics industry he worked with the Monsanto Company, Ashland Chemical Company, Mobil Chemical, Borg Warner Plastics, GE Plastics and the Sherwin-Williams Company. In heavy industry he represented Caterpillar, the International Truck and Engine Corporation and Navistar, among others.

He was named one of the "Best Lawyers in America," Woodward/White, Inc. 2007-2008 and listed in "The International Who's Who of Environmental Lawyers." Mr. Harrington received his law degree from Notre Dame University in 1967, where served on the Board of Editors for the Notre Dame Law Review, Notre Dame Lawyer. He served as Past President of the Mid-American Legal Foundation of Chicago and Past Chairman of the Illinois Safety Council along with numerous professional affiliations. He writes and lectures on issues of environmental law and is Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology in the Stuart School of Business, Masters in Environmental Management Program and is Chairman of the Program Advisory Board. James Harrington also serves as Adjunct Professor of Environmental Law at Loyola Law School in Chicago.
