LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Solar Power International, (South Hall G, Booth #4326) -- Power-One Inc. (Nasdaq:PWER), a leading provider of renewable energy and energy-efficient power conversion and power management solutions, has announced it has now received certification in accordance with the German Federal Association for Energy and Water (BDEW) technical directive 'Power Generation Equipment Connected to the Medium-Voltage Power Grid'.

The new products certified under the BDEW 2008 directive include Power-One's Aurora central inverters in the full range of 55kW, 110kW, 165kW, 220kW, 275kW and 330kW variations, both with and without low voltage transformer.

This new certification allows us to promote our Central inverter products with full functionalities to support and stabilize the grid providing the power plant behavior in areas densely populated with solar installations.

This new directive from the Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW) is designed to ensure power inverters have the ability to offer static and dynamic support characteristics in connecting to the Medium Voltage Grid in Germany.
