NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ACI Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq:ACIW), a leading international provider of payments systems, today announced that it has merged the services company ACI Soluciones, a previous joint venture between ACI and processor 4B, into ACI's Spanish operations, to deliver more flexibility and choice to companies operating in the ever-changing Iberian and North African financial markets. This merger has doubled ACI's number of employees dedicated to these countries, including individuals with extensive experience helping some of the largest organizations in the region implement ACI products.

The team, based out of the ACI offices in Madrid, will be able to deliver hands-on support across ACI's complete range of products, with specialization on the electronic payments engine BASE24-eps®, ACI Proactive Risk Manager™ for fraud prevention and detection, and ACI's products in the back office space, including ACI Issuer™ and ACI Acquirer™.

"ACI created ACI Soluciones in 2000 as a joint venture with processor Sistema 4B, to provide expertise and resources to support 4B and other ACI customers in Spain, Portugal and North Africa. With the changes that have happened in the Spanish market, such as a the new ruling that gives banks flexibility in the choice of processing their POS and ATM transactions, it made sense for ACI to bring all the expertise in house to ensure we can be completely responsive to our customers' needs," said Bernard Delahaye, vice president of strategy and planning at ACI Worldwide.

"The Iberian and North African market has been very important for ACI Worldwide since we signed our first customer in 1999, and we are delighted to be able to demonstrate our commitment to the region through this activity," said Alessandro Tedoldi, business development manager at ACI Worldwide in Spain. "We look forward to continuing to work with the major institutions in these dynamic markets."
