AGUA DULCE, Calif. — A small plane crashed in a horse corral in northern Los Angeles County, killing two people and three horses. Authorities had earlier said four people were killed but then downgraded the death toll to two.
County fire Inspector Matt Levesque said the plane went down behind a barn and burst into flames at about 12:10 p.m. Thursday in Agua Dulce, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.
Three horses in the corral also were killed and a fourth was injured.
The flames were quickly doused. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
An airport is not far from the crash scene, but Levesque said it isn't immediately clear whether the plane departed from there.
The area also is near Vasquez Rocks, a local rock formation often used as a filming location for movies and TV shows.
