PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 27, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ICG Commerce, the procurement outsourcing specialist headquartered in King of Prussia, will launch a first of its kind Leadership Development Program, focused exclusively on developing the procurement leaders of tomorrow.
The program is a two-year rotational curriculum aimed at providing Procurement Development Associates with the specialized training needed to facilitate their development into highly skilled and knowledgeable procurement professionals. The program includes a custom-designed, experiential learning workshop facilitated by Rich Kuepper of L.E.A.D. International, a company dedicated to designing and facilitating corporate learning and development programs.

"The program has been designed to develop the next generation of ICG Commerce talent and provide employees with exposure, experience and skills needed to help companies fundamentally improve how they manage their non-core spend."
During the two-year program, each associate will work across ICG Commerce in a series of three job rotations, each eight months in duration. Rotations will be supplemented with formal training, certifications, class team-building, cross-cultural learning and executive exposure including LEAN Six Certification, global projects focused on Asia and Europe and assignment of an "Executive Sponsor" which will be members of the firm's management committee.
The program will be launched on October 27th with a half-day workshop held at ICG Commerce headquarters which sets the stage for a full-day learning experience in Philadelphia called "The Street Smart Leadership Challenge," set to take place on October 28. The "The Street Smart Leadership Challenge" will test associates ability to adapt and effectively use influence on the streets of Philadelphia. At the close of the challenge, associates will have an opportunity to reflect on the leadership and influencing skills needed for success on the streets of Philadelphia and how they can be applied to help associates meet their goals.
