About 370 bicycles sold by Giant Bicycle Inc. have been recalled because the frame can crack, posing a fall hazard to riders.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the company announced the recall Friday.

Consumers should stop using the bicycles immediately and call an authorized Giant Bicycle dealer for a free inspection and repair.

The company can be reached at (866) 458-2555 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. PST on week days. Its website is www.giant-bicycles.com .

The bicycles are the 2011 model Giant Anthem X 29er. They were sold in small, medium and large sizes at bicycle dealers nationwide in August for between $2,200 and $3,500.

"Giant" and the model name are printed on the bicycle.

The bicycles were manufactured in Taiwan and imported by Newbury Park, Calif.-based Giant Bicycle.

No injuries have yet been reported.
