The young black bear that was found struggling in an Issaquah back yard has been euthanized.

KOMO-TV reports a veterinarian determined Friday its hind legs were paralyzed by a bullet wound.

The Issaquah homeowner called wildlife agents Thursday when it appeared the bear was stuck under a log in a creek. Agents tranquilized it and took it to the Progressive Animal Welfare Society in Lynnwood where an X-ray showed the bullet near its spine.

Wildlife agents will keep the bullet as they investigate how the bear was shot.
