INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 15, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL), a global leader in providing supply chain solutions to the wireless industry, today announced that Larry Paulson has been named to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective January 1, 2011.

As Brightpoint CMO, Paulson will be responsible for providing direction and coordination in the areas of strategic development, portfolio expansion through new products and services, establishing and managing relationships with key vendors and customers and executing on the global marketing plan. He will also facilitate and drive Brightpoint's strategic commercial initiatives around the world. Paulson has been working closely with Brightpoint since June 2010 as Senior Strategic Development Advisor, where he also served as a member of the Global Executive Team and led critical initiatives in strategic planning, development and investments, and product portfolio and service expansion. In his new role as CMO, Paulson will report directly to Robert J. Laikin, Brightpoint Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, Paulson designed, developed, launched and life cycled approximately 80 models of CDMA handsets in over 40 countries.
