NEW YORK, Nov. 18, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fresh Healthy Vending welcomes its newest Franchisee Michael Bloom of Princeton, New Jersey. The Fresh Healthy Vending In-House Location Development team was able to secure contracts with multiple machines being placed at McGuire Air Force Base in Trenton and PTC Therapeutics in South Plainfield as well as several schools in the Central Jersey area.

"Today's Military is demanding healthy food and drink options for the Armed Forces. The Fresh Healthy Vending program is exactly what we were looking for and are excited to be installing multiple machines at McGuire Air Force base this week," said Freddie Puryear the Business Services Manager at McGuire Air Force Base. These Fresh Vending installations are just the beginning and we are looking to install Fresh Healthy Vending in other Air Force bases in the near future," added Puryear.

"PTC Therapeutics is always looking for ways to enhance our employees experience in the work place. We felt that Fresh Vending offered selections that were aligned with employees goals to live a healthier lifestyle and that this is a great way to allow them to achieve that goal in all aspects of their lives," said Ed McDonald, Director of Facilities, PTC Therapeutics, South Plainfield, NJ.

"The consumers in my area of Central New Jersey are sophisticated and knowledgeable about healthy choices and food quality. Every person I've spoken to about Fresh Healthy Vending has agreed that it's an idea whose time has come. Our family friends love what we are doing and even volunteered to present the idea to their kids schools which is thrilling to me," said Michael Bloom the Fresh Franchisee. "I've spent 25 years in corporate America and always enjoyed taking on new projects and challenges. This is the first time I am venturing out on my own and am very bullish about the Fresh Healthy Vending opportunity for my area and although I started with only 10 machines I'm looking to grow the business by an additional 8-10 machines per year moving forward, " added Bloom.

"Obesity among children and adults needs to be addressed. The evidence is clear that there is no substitute for diet and exercise. Just like jogging, yoga, biking or just plain walking are beneficial so is making a habit of good choices when it comes to snacking. Some people are very progressive in the food choices they make. Others accept the offerings that are provided. I think eating habits take time to change. If people can be educated about the impact of healthier food choices, the benefits will become evident and we will see a healthier, 'fit' population," added Bloom.

"The staff at Fresh Healthy Vending is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated. Their patience, professionalism and willingness to help is an outstanding attribute. I've enjoyed every interaction with the staff," said Bloom.
