MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received a $1.1 million order for satellite transceivers and amplifiers from a telecommunications provider in Latin America. The equipment will support a data network expansion to enable the delivery of service to additional subscribers.

The order includes an array of RF products including CSAT C-Band Transceivers, LPOD Block Up Converters and CLNA Low-Noise Amplifiers. The CSAT C-Band Transceiver provides superior performance, long-term reliability and ease of installation while the LPOD Block Up Converters eliminate the traditional requirement for the modem to supply a DC power source and a 10 MHz reference to the BUCs and LNBs.

The Low-Noise Amplifiers are available in C-, X- or Ku-Band with options for redundancy. Compact design and rugged construction make the units ideal for transportable applications and severe environments.

"This order is another example of the key role Comtech infrastructure equipment plays in global connectivity," commented Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp.
