NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hudson Highland Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:HHGP), one of the world's leading providers of permanent recruitment, contract professionals and talent management solutions, today announced that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jon Chait intends to retire from the company at its annual meeting of shareholders on April 28, 2011.

"After careful deliberation I have decided it is time for the company to transition to a new leader," Chait said. "Hudson is progressing well in the aftermath of the global downturn and we have an excellent senior leadership team in place. After eight years at the helm I think this is a good time for me to move on to a new chapter in my life and for a new leader to take Hudson to the next level. I have discussed this with our Board of Directors and we have agreed to engage Spencer Stuart to conduct the search for a CEO. They will consider both internal and external candidates."

"I am proud of all we have accomplished," Chait added. "We have created, from the businesses spun off from Monster Worldwide in 2003, a distinctive global recruitment company with a strong set of values and ethics. While making high-quality candidates key to our operations, we have focused on deep practice specialization and recruitment solutions for our clients across the globe. We ran a tight ship during the downturn and have now returned to profitability. I wish my friends and colleagues continued success as the market recovers."

"We are sorry to hear of Jon's decision," Lead Director Dick Stolz said. "The Board is very grateful to Jon for his tireless leadership, his integrity and his friendship which we will all miss. We wish Jon great happiness in the next chapter of his life. We are delighted that he has agreed to stay on as leader while we work with Spencer Stuart to find his replacement during the coming months."
