Veterinarians at Atlanta's zoo say the new giant panda cub is healthy and he weighs just over two pounds.

The cub was born Nov. 3. The media were allowed for the first time to see the cub Thursday during his weekly checkup. This is the third cub for Zoo Atlanta's Lun Lun (loon loon).

She was inseminated earlier this year with the sperm of her partner, Yang Yang.

The cub won't be named until he is 100 days old, following Chinese tradition. He will be placed in public viewing areas at the zoo when he can walk, usually around 4 months old.

Until then, panda fans can watch the cub's rapid growth on the zoo's online panda cam.

Zoo Atlanta has had Lun Lun and Yang Yang for a decade.
