BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eCrypt Inc (OTCBB:ECRY) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first season of Privacy Now TV, which saw an overall increase in viewership of over 196% since its launch in August.

During the 2010 season the show released 15 episodes and covered subjects ranging from privacy on social networks, workplace privacy, public WiFi security and how to detect phishing and other online scams. With viewership averaging a 25% increase weekly, the show has realized success on iTunes by being permanently placed in the "New and Notable" section of the Technology News and Business News categories.

"We originally committed to just one season to see how receptive the public would be to the show," commented Brad Lever, President and CEO of eCrypt Inc. "We've received great feedback, and with viewership of the show more than doubling from October to November alone, we have decided to continue with another season."

Reflecting eCrypt Inc's core purpose of enabling users to protect their online privacy and identity, in addition to empowering viewers with knowledge the show is also an innovative way for the Company to increase brand awareness, and awareness of the pressing need for its products in a world increasingly filled with privacy threats.

"The regular increase in viewership is an indication that internet users are interested in and actively seeking information about online privacy and security," commented Kasia Zukowska, co-founder of eCrypt Inc and host of Privacy Now TV. "This is encouraging. It tells us that we are on the right track and providing real value to the community."

Privacy Now TV offers viewers objective and useful information about protecting their identity and staying safe online. Its highest rated episodes include "How to disable Facebook Places", "How to Protect Your Online Reputation", and "Email Security - How Vulnerable is Your Email?", illustrating that internet users are concerned about, and seek out information about, their online privacy and security.
