Johnson & Johnson said Friday it is extending its recall of Rolaids Softchews into Canada.

The company's McNeil Consumer Healthcare business said it is voluntarily pulling all Rolaids Ultra Strength Softchews and Rolaids Ultra Strength Softchews plus Gas Relief off the market because consumers reported finding metal and wood particles. The recall includes all production lots. The company said stores, retailers, and pharmacies should stop selling the products, and consumers who bought the products should stop using them.

On Thursday, McNeil recalled all Rolaids Extra Strength Softchews, Rolaids Extra Strength plus Gas Softchews and Rolaids Multi-Symptom plus Anti-Gas Softchews from the U.S. market. That recall was also spurred by the discovery of metal and wood particles. The company has announced multiple recalls of a variety of products in recent months.
