THOROLD, Ontario, Jan. 6, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, JBI, Inc. (the "Company") (OTCQX:JBII) (JBI) is pleased to announce the appointment of James Fairbairn to the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Fairbairn is a self-employed chartered accountant, consulting for public companies since 1990 and a Member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a current officer or director at a number of TSX Venture Exchange listed companies. His extensive experience in public accounting and corporate governance will be a strong asset for the Company's board of directors.

James Fairbairn graduated from the University of Western Ontario and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1987, and received his 1CD.D designation in 2009. Jim has worked as a consultant almost exclusively in the resource industry and has served as a senior officer and/or director of a number of public and private companies.
