WESTCHESTER, Ill., Jan. 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Regent Surgical Health, a leading specialist in surgery center development and management, is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Lau from Director of Financial Analysis to the position of Corporate Controller.

Lau started with Regent in 2007 after successful stints as a Senior Financial Analyst for Paincare America, LLC and for Option Care, Inc. Prior to excelling as an analyst, Lau worked for MarCap Corporation for 7 years as an Accounting Manager for its freestanding radiology centers.

"The combination of his unique analysis experience within the healthcare industry and his keen understanding of financial accounting has helped make Matt so invaluable to Regent and to our partners," said Tom Mallon, CEO of Regent Surgical Health.

As Corporate Controller, Lau will be responsible for the monthly compilation of the corporate financial statements for Regent Surgical Health, as well as the coordination of Regent's year-end review and tax return preparation. In addition, Lau will also oversee the day-to-day corporate accounting and cash management duties for Regent. Lau will continue to provide financial analysis support to Regent's development projects as well as Regent's current partners, and will take a more active role in revenue recognition issues.

Matt Lau expressed his eagerness to take on additional responsibilities, "When I first started working at Regent, I knew immediately that I had found a home. I thoroughly enjoy working in this terrific environment with the great people of the Regent family. During the past four years, we have seen many changes and challenges within our niche of the healthcare industry, and Regent has been able to successfully adapt to those changes and excel. I am excited for the opportunity to expand my responsibilities and further help Regent and our partners adapt and excel well into the future."
