Chemical Bank Launches "Community Spirit. Made in Michigan" and Essay Contest Promoting Importance of Community Banking

MIDLAND, Mich., Feb. 1, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- During February, Chemical Bank will be running its "Community Spirit. Made in Michigan" campaign, celebrating Chemical Bank's long standing tradition of providing community banking services across the state of Michigan. As part of this celebration, Chemical Bank employees will highlight in their banking locations the community based organizations they support across the state, while sponsoring an essay contest for High School students titled, "What Community means to me."

Made in Michigan" campaign, celebrating Chemical Bank's long standing tradition of providing community banking services across the state of Michigan. As part of this celebration, Chemical Bank employees will highlight in their banking locations the community based organizations they support across the state, while sponsoring an essay contest for High School students titled, "What Community means to me."

Through the Community Spirit essay contest, Chemical Bank is inviting High School students to participate in an essay contest, by writing in 250 words or less, what community means to them. The contest, which will run until March 15th, is open to High School students ages 14-18. Three winners will be awarded Savings Bonds from Chemical Bank and the First Place Winner will also receive an iPod® touch*. Winning entries will also be shared with local newspapers across the state.
