NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TIE Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:TTCS), a diverse technology holding company focused on proprietary smart logistics, environmental and disaster remediation, telemetrics, and advanced IT solutions, today announced a new aggressive campaign to provide its OILDAM™ system to at risk oil spill areas around the world.

TIE's Smart Environmental Systems Division is launching a new generation oil spill protection initiative aimed at delivering a "smart" and "ready to deploy" solution for governments from the Gulf of Mexico to the Middle East.

The OilDam™ solution, which was originally invented by Tie Technologies Smart Environmental Solutions Division (SES), in response to the Deepwater Horizon BP Oil Spill, is designed to keep oil away from the shore, contain it and pump it into storage containers for recycling. At the same time, this fixed barrier blocks oil, and is ecosystem friendly by allowing water to pass back and forth through its base, maintaining tidal flows to support critical shoreline life.

Mark Marangella, SES President, said, "Not only is it imperative for us to address this unresolved Gulf Oil spill disaster, that we were all hoping would just miraculously disappear, but it is equally important that we present the OilDam™ as a preemptive protective solution to global environmental protection stakeholders as well. As such, this new initiative will include reaching out to international markets wherever oil extraction is happening at sea."

On 19 September 2010 the leaking well was finally capped. Now, nearly five month later, despite claims that chemical dispersants, which included over 771,000 gallons of a toxic chemical dispersant called Corexit 9500A, would help break down crude oil and eventually degrade in the water, a new study suggests that the spill hung around for months after the well was capped and continues to threaten the Gulf.

Detailed information and specifications regarding the smart and interactive OilDam™ solution and its environmental impact are now available on the internet at .
