HOUSTON & KEMAH, Texas, Feb. 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American International Industries, Inc. (OTCBB:AMIN) (OTCQB:AMIN) ("American" or the "Company") today announced the formation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, American International Texas Properties, Inc., a Nevada Corporation. American owns a portfolio of properties that will be conveyed to its wholly owned subsidiary, as well as purchase additional properties.

Mr. Daniel Dror, Chairman and CEO, stated that "we believe the time is imminent when owners of strategically located properties should do very well during the next two to five years. The new cycle initially began with resurgence in the stock market and historically, the demand for and the value of commercial properties and raw land subsequently also increase substantially. The portfolio of properties owned by American and the properties the Company is interested in purchasing are located in Houston and its neighboring counties, an area that is fast growing and had a minimal downturn effect in the recent recession. There is a growing awareness by the Real Estate circles in the Houston area that the availability of building lots for development is becoming scarce and a renewed interest in purchasing of real estate that has not been seen in the past four years. The Company has received some offers for its properties and continues to actively solicit purchasers with interest in several parcels of land. The market value of the properties owned by the Company is more than the value that the Company carries on its books."
