BREWSTER, Wash., Feb. 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Electrodynamics Incorporated (USEI) today announced that the company was recently rated compliant with the Department of Defense (DoD) Mission Assurance Category (MAC) I and Confidentiality Level (CL) Sensitive Information Assurance (IA) security requirements for commercial satellite communications services.

An independent audit of USEI's IA posture, as conducted by CapRock Government Solutions, shows USEI's compliance with the highest mission assurance category and confidentiality level required by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) criteria for assessing the security posture of commercial satellite offerings to DoD and other federal agency customers under the Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition contract vehicle.

"USEI accepts these successful results as a valid demonstration of our company's thorough and persistent commitment to meet the highest security requirements defined by the DoD," said USEI President and Owner, Jim Veeder.

"CapRock and USEI believe Information Assurance is an essential and determining factor for our government customers and, more importantly, is vital to national security and critical national infrastructure protection," said CapRock Government Solutions Director of Information Assurance, Bill Janosky. "USEI's commitment to operational excellence and national security interests were indispensable to our IA auditing efforts."

IA is the practice of managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes. The emphasis on IA in both military and civilian federal procurements is in keeping with national security policies requiring security measures to protect government networks and data.
