BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 24, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Syringa Networks, provider of high-speed fiber optic telecommunications services in the Idaho-Utah region, announced today the launch of their Utah market. In early 2010, the company announced the expansion of their network into northern Utah, and today's announcement is a continuation of that commitment.

Three significant developments mark the launch and availability of Syringa Networks services in Utah:

  • The purchase of a new building in January 2011. The facility is a 30,000 square foot building in West Valley City at 1385 West 2200 South. The facility will serve both as the home office for Utah operations and as a regional Central Office (CO) for telecommunications equipment and network interconnections.
  • The completion of a fiber optic network ring in Salt Lake City that passes through the heart of the downtown business district providing businesses with access to a high-performance network infrastructure.
  • The deployment of a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) node in Salt Lake City enabling businesses to leverage the benefits of both the regional optical network and the performance and flexibility that MPLS services provide.

The new facility coupled with the new fiber deployment and the addition of the MPLS node enables Salt Lake businesses to connect to a purpose-built network specifically designed to support mission critical applications. These investments are the first of a multi-phase Syringa Networks fiber optic network expansion throughout Utah.

"We're very committed to our Utah operations. We expanded our fiber optic network into Utah last year, and opening an office is the next step in serving the business community throughout the Wasatch front," said Greg Lowe, Syringa Networks CEO. "We're excited to offer businesses an alternative to current providers."

The demand for faster and more reliable network services grows as businesses continue to make the shift to cloud-based computing and mobile applications.  Syringa Networks specializes in delivering network services to meet the needs of these bandwidth intensive applications.

"The intermountain region continues to grow, and there is a need for increased high-speed connectivity within this market," said Lowe. "Our ability to provide custom network solutions means that our customers not only get the performance they need, but they also get a solution that meets their specific requirements."
