New York, NY, March 1, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Defense and security policy specialist Erik Schechter is joining Spector & Associates, a nationally recognized corporate communications firm. In his role as Senior Account Executive, Schechter will provide high-level counsel to Spector’s defense and technology clients and support the firm’s growth into the international public affairs sector. Schechter will continue his work as a staff correspondent for the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.
Erik’s appointment is a strategic part of company’s international expansion efforts, following the promotion of Elliott Suthers to Vice President.

Most recently, Erik has been a defense journalist specializing in technology for the Training & Simulation and C4ISR Journal. Prior to joining Spector & Associates, Erik served as contributing editor for the World Press Review, defense writer for The Jerusalem Post and senior correspondent for The Jerusalem Report.
Erik received his M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago and is a former tank driver with IDF Armored Corps, earning his battalion’s Excellent Soldier Award in 2002.
