SAN JOSE, Calif., March 2, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Power Integrations (Nasdaq:POWI) today announced that Bruce T. Renouard, the company's vice president of worldwide sales since 2002, will leave the company effective March 18, having accepted a similar role at a larger company. Ben Sutherland has been named acting vice president of sales and will lead the company's sales organization on an interim basis while a replacement is being sought. Mr. Sutherland joined Power Integrations in 2000 and currently serves as senior sales director with responsibility for a broad geographic territory including Europe, India, Southeast Asia, Japan and the Americas.

Commented Balu Balakrishnan, president and CEO of Power Integrations, "Bruce has provided tremendous leadership for our sales team over the past nine years. During his tenure our annual sales have more than tripled and our worldwide customer base has grown five-fold. Most importantly, Bruce has developed a talented, experienced team with global reach and a deep understanding of the power-supply industry. While we will miss his leadership, he leaves us well positioned for continued growth. We wish Bruce all the best as he takes the next step in his career."

Mr. Renouard added: "While I am excited to take on new challenges and move on to the next stage in my career, it is not easy to leave Power Integrations. I am proud to have been a part of this great growth story for the past nine years, and I believe the company has the strategy, the people and the technology for continued success in the years ahead. I am particularly proud of the PI sales team, whose global presence, motivation and technical skill should continue to serve Power Integrations well for a long time to come."
