Bulow BioTech Prosthetics is proud to announce that its patient, Lewis Branson, is among the first 3 U.S. civilians to be fitted with the O ssur POWER KNEE™. The motorized knee is a "smart" prosthetic limb, which can "learn" its user's walking style and make real time adjustments based on changes in speed, stride, or terrain.

Branson's legs were irreparably damaged in 1996 when two 2000 pound ammo pallets fell on them. After 42 surgeries, both legs were eventually amputated, but the loss never slowed him down. "When I fit Lewis for his first prosthetic legs, I told him it could take more than a year to stand and balance. Just seven weeks later he shocked our entire staff when he walked into our office on his own power," exclaimed Bulow. Following his POWER KNEE™ fitting, Branson said, "After just one week, I am already close to equally sharing the weight on the above-knee side that I put on my below-knee side. This is so important to me, not only to give the right side a break, but also to get me back to doing what I want to do on a daily basis."
Matthew Bulow is himself an amputee. He lost his right leg to cancer at an early age. As a prosthetist, he has dedicated himself and his entire practice to providing the highest level of customer service, eliminating unnecessary prosthetic pain, and helping patients reach their highest level of mobility. "Some patients want to play basketball again, and some just want to be able to cook dinner for their family.
