Consulate General of Japan in New York, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York and Japan Society to Ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell

What:

Consulate General of Japan in New York, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York (JCCINY), and Japan Society will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to show support to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan and their families.

In honor of the occasion, Ambassador Shigeyuki Hiroki, Consul General of Japan in New York, will preside over the NASDAQ Closing Bell.

In response to the disaster, Japan Society created the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund, which will work with Japanese and American non-profit organizations that are on the frontlines of disaster relief and recovery in Japan. One hundred percent of tax-deductible contributions to the fund will go to organizations that directly help victims recover from the devastating effects of the earthquake and tsunamis.
